I'm using an Eddy performer intake with 800 Eddy carb and the Mopar adaptor for linkage. I installed a cable from Mancini. Trouble i have is it seems the inner steel cable is to long for the outer casing. I can't get it adjusted to get WOT. Anyone else have this problem? Is it the cable? At intake cable is set way to far back in clamp and with pedal to floor it isn't pulling the cable full back for WOT. If i move the cable forwaed it doesn't alow the carb to go back to idle it keeps it open a bit. I'm thinking cable is incorrect?

I would guess you need to move your pulling point closer to the throttle shaft to allow more throttle movement per cable movement. The other thing I would certainly do is to install another backup throttle spring inside or outside of your existing spring. Then, looking at the long yellow spring, I can't see that thing doing anything. Good luck with that, nice looking engine compartment!

yellow spring is pulling throttle pressure linkage forward to the throttle pin at all times...which is correct and doing what it is supposed to do

I would look into a taller intake bracket to mount the throttle cable higher and level with throttle pin/lever

the bracket will move the cable up and forward IIRC

bouchillon has a cut to fit throttle cabel that is nice and works very well for this problem also

AndyF makes some nice brackets for this as well

why did you replace the stock cable?

I replaced the stock cable because the outer casing was cracking and looked bad. Who is Andy F? I'll look into his bracket

car is a 68. Factory was points. I mounted the ECU behind the intake as to make it less visable when looking under the hood.

did you change anything other than the cable? does your old cable work if you put it back in? i don't think there is any variable in the cable itself other than if it's just too short to fit which obviously isn't the case here. i agree with the first reply, you need to put the attaching point at the carb closer to the pivot point so less pedal movement equals more throttle blade movement. back when i ran a kickdown linkage and a holley, my throttle cable was attached closer to the pivot point than the kickdown pin. please answer the first 2 questions in my reply.

Changed the cable only. Don't know if orignal cable would have worked right as i changed the cable when i installed the new intake and carb. As for moving closer to pivot point i can't. I'm at the edge of metal cap on the casing now. Seems like the inner cable is too long for the outer shell. Wondering if the adaptor for Mopar kickdown is changing the ratio? I can get WOT but it doesn't let it go back to idle or i can get it to resting position but not full WOT. I may look into that adaptor.

That would be way to tall for my intake. Eddy performer.
