Sorry about that, I would like to see some pictures of both sides & where the inserts are. Ours has a 383 in it but the hood has hemi inserts. I am not sure if it's a 68 or 69 hood we have.
Thanks

Is it me or does that look strange, it is an optical illusion from the angle in which you took the picture?

OK, There are two 68 hoods, early to mid and mid to late. The skins are the same, it's the under structure that differs. All 68 hoods that I have ever seen even into the last days of production are soild under the bolt in insert. 69's had four areas cut out under the insert for the air grabber option.
Here's a early to mid 68 hood

I know someone will chime in that their 68 has the cutouts under the insert. I have yet been able to find a org unmolested car that could prove this, not saying it's not possible just hasn't been proven to me yet.
Here's a pic of a repo 69 hood with the cutouts.
Also 68 inserts will bolt into a 69 hood, but 69 inserts will NOT bolt into a 68 hood without some cutting to let the insert filler/screen screws to clear.

Looks fine to me. Also from the pic's I've seen of the resto, there's NO problem there!

Picture was taken from the passenger side. Not sure what is looking off... Maybe this one is better??
