Sounds good to me but Danny's gonna be off in Thailand somewhere during the Talledega event. What a time to pick up and go to Thailand huh?

Thanks for the heads up there on this car john. I'll give the guy a call as soon as possible.

As far as the leads on the black daytona, go, no deal so far. Still can't get ahold of anybody.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

Hi wing car guys. I've got a 69 500 SE, F3 green with green interior, it is in a million pieces, but all the important stuff is there. I bought it with the intentions of making it into a Daytona, I figured half the work is already done, but now I'm not so sure. Danny and I have talked about the car at length and I keep teetering on fence about selling it or if I keep it, which direction I want to go. It is a factory a/c car, which obviously would be way off base for a Daytona, but my earlier position was "Hey, it's my car, if you don't like it, walk away" But now I'm thinking I should just build a clone from a-z and preserve what mother mopar contracted out. I need thoughtfull opinions on this one guys. The car is very solid (even the back window plug is pristine) I have an nos quarter for the left side (banged and patched years ago) and needs small sections of trunk floor and lower quarter skin on rt rear, no inner panels have rust and the floor is perfect. I don't have the matching engine or trans (440 auto on floor) XX29L9B232XXX.
The fender tag reads like this:
N85 R22 V88 26 G11 G33 H51 J25 M21 M31 AO1 AO4 A11 B51 C16 C55 F3 F3 CRG F8 CO4 925497 E86 D32 and the VIN. The roof has the two little tiny holes on each side of the "c" pillars for the se emblem, woodgrain dash, rocker moldings, a/c etc. I still have the back window and trim, 1mph strips, vin, fender tag, trunk lid (very nice) but I got the car with no front clip. I have 69 charger parts for the front, but don't have the 500 filler pieces or correct grill with the stand-offs. Danny would probably like the car if I put it back together, but if I do all that, I'll probably want to keep it. I just picked up an original A12 bee so now I have that project staring me in the face too. This sickness is going to kill me. I'm not posting here to advertise the car for sale, I just need some educated opinions from the guys that have been in love with these cars for the past 35 years. I used to ride in Rick Edward's bird when I was younger, been around these my whole life, but now with a gang of kids and too many cars, I just don't know what to do. Come on guys, gimme some input.
Todd.

John, only 2 words, 500 or Daytona? what would you do. I never really got used to the look of a 500's nose. Probably why I've never owned a 68 Coronet.

Todd.

Todd,, I have a '69 Charger 500....... please man, keep it a C500, not a Daytona clone.... You can go get a 318 Charger and do that..... and have both........ Whatcha think?

Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of the C500 grille, but, they, C500's, are unique in MaMopar's racing History... The FIRST of the aerocars..

IN regards to fixing the front end, the mod's to the headlamp buckets can be made from factory pieces and the brackets that hold the grille can be fabricated probably easily from flat stock steel... The hard part will be the headlamp bezel surrounds by the fenders.......

Welcome aboard...
Troy

StBasher thats what I heard or was told of on that daytona account.wether it be yellow or being R4 V2. Or another color like bronze a daytona with fender off and nose.its and and still is a mass compilage of car info from notes on top of years of notes .Gathered from the mid 70s.On into these days even more car and owners being emailed via computer. With cars changing colors and hands so often .Theres a margin for errors as color or a discrepancy .Corrected in attachment #214 .Danny 69 SE that black daytona guy isnt easy to get a hold of or not will to talk or discuss his car.Ive tried on and off for years before my current 440 car .And then on after.I had one so gave up .I dont buy these cars to build up a quanity of and sell off . I just keep supplying parts and working on area wingcars .and asked the owners. If you had or ever willing to sell let me in on it. I tell them as they now I have a 440 car its not for me .But having many inquiries for people wanting asking me to find them one thats been wanting one. That will be kept and restored .And not for sale
