WINGCARS_6970 - I know the silver Hemi Charger 500 very well, could have / should have bought it. I have a small amount of paperwork related to the car, and offered it to Cliff Dukes at a show in Houston in the late 1980s. He did not seem the least bit interested, so I kept it...

Here is a picture of it when a friend owned it. I have better pictures of it, but had this one already scanned in. He sold it to the guy in Universal City that later sold it to Cliff Dukes. I know some of the history of the car which came from El Paso in the early 1980s...

So Dave, has there been anymore f5 Daytonas found since then or do I have a one of a kind?

I also have some pictures of a Q5 Charger 500,a red Daytona and a couple of other Chargers all sitting at the same place. The pictures were taken in the mid to late 70's in Fortville IN. They all belonged to Dewayne Liebrandt. Also sitting in the garage was a complete Hemi, was it from 1 of these cars ????. I would post the pics if I could! Haven't figured out where or how to find and transfer them from the server on this new computor Anyone know of these cars?

Dan.

"So Dave, has there been anymore f5 Daytonas found since then or do I have a one of a kind?"

I've seen pics of a dark green 69 hemi 4sp Daytona. From Central or Northern california in the 80's.

I thought the old Pete Haldiman/Jim Radke blue and red Hemi auto Daytona was originally green. Don't know which shade though?

Mopar4ya, if you have any pics of Dewayne Liebrandt's cars, can you please scan them in for me? I'm Danny Liebrandt, his son. And the picture of the Q5 500 on the first page of this post is the same car your refering to, but it is the only picture that I have of the car. So any other pictures of my dad's old cars would be greatly appreciated. Question you didn't purchase any wing cars off of my dad in 86 did ya? I have no clue where any of his cars went to that is why i ask.

On the hunt for my dad's old cars. They include 5 Daytona's, 2 superbirds, and 2 500's. Very interested in finding the Red on Red Daytona, and Q5 Charger 500, and have found both cars.

I remember a red 70 Daytona with a black wing in Lafayette, Indiana in the mid 70's. The only thing I remember about it that it belonged to a guy that was selling marijuana. It was offered to me after a deal went bad and someone knifed all four tires on the car. It was sitting in the front yard of his house and he said to get that old piece of sh!t out of there (his words). He wanted $600 for it, and since I was just a punk with no cash, and thought it was one ugly car at the time, I said he!! no! (as I sit here kicking myself in the arse once again).

xs29j8, that's an impressive collection of old Mopars you got there! You are very fortunate.

This is such a cool topic - I also love the pictures of cars taken back in "the day." I REALLY liked the yellow Daytona in Ill. from 1969. Man, what I wouldn't give to go back in time! The world WAS a better place back then! Back when "Made in America" meant something. I love the old musclecars & everything they meant.

Sunroofcuda - Thanks, you are right that I am very fortunate to have the cars... A benefit of having started to collect these cars since before anyone gave a darn about them. There were many that got away for one reason or another, usually I did not have the funds together fast enough.

I have already sold about half of my collection over the last 15 years, and will probably sell a few more in the next few years to finance the restoration of the ones that I just can't part with...

There is a Daytona locally that has a 2-tone blue mid-70s custom paint job, fender tag and broadcast sheet show F5 440 auto buckets console white interior. GG had the b'cast sheet for a long time, before it was reunited with the current owner, more recently than '91 I've heard 3 F5 cars.

Car was a long time Ohio car, spent some time on LI and is now back in Ohio.

OMG!!! I know that car! I flew out Atlantic City with this moron I know and we drove to Long Island to look at that Daytona in the dead of winter. Me and Jim B. from the Mopar Nats urged the moron to buy the car but he wussed out and we flew home empty handed. Maybe that's why he's been wingless since 1985!!!

I would greatly appreciate seeing any pics of my dads cars. Like i have said before i have about 2,500 pics that my dad took at various car shows in the late 70's to early 80's. But for some reason he never took very many pics of the cars that were at our house. I only have the vin number of one of my dad's old cars, and i have been trying to track down any of them to see where they are now, and what kind of a condition they are in now. If at all possible it would be a dream of mine to find and possibly purchase one of two of his old cars. Idealy i'd like to get them all back but come on there is no way i can afford 5 daytona's, 2 500's, 3 superbirds, 2 hemi road runners, and 2 6 pack 71 cuda's. I mean when my dad bought and sold all these cars not a one of them was over $7,000, and now you couldn't touch a one of them for 5 times that price. So realistically i'd really like to track down his red Daytona he had, the B5 blue daytona he had, and the Q5 500 he had. Those are the car's that i'm most interested in. The other daytona's were decent but the Red one and the B5 blue one are the one's I have most of my memories in.
So if you have pictures of when we lived in Fortville, did my dad still have the Red Daytona, a Green Daytona, Q5 500, 1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang, and the red 1971 Cuda 440-6 4 speed?
Man when i was like 5 years old I thought everyone had daytona's and superbirds. Little did I know then that i was growing up in a very nice household with many nice cars.

Dan, I got goosebumps reading your last post. Your dad had some mighty awesome cars. It sure would have been nice to have some more pics from around the house. It would really help to have the VIN numbers from the cars that you would most want to buy back. Good luck with it and if you need any help posting pics on here, please feel free to holler at me!

Well just remember that he didn't have all those cars at the same time. I'm sure there are many other guys on this board who have had quite a list of different cars if they sit back and think about it. Those are just the cars that i can remember him having. Well and his daily driver was a 1969 Dodge Charger RT/SE. Well he also drove his red daytona back and forth to work at Allisons Gas Turbine, funny to see a Daytona as his drive to work vehicle especially when Allison's is for chevrolet. i'm making a trip to the bank in our home town sometime this week, and going to see if i can get a look at his loan papers. I know he had a loan on the superbirds, and at least 2 of the Daytona's. So they should have some vin numbers. I also know he had a loan on the Hemi 500 that now resides in Nj.

Hey John i have a question for ya about your video's. Are all the older footages that you show things that you taped? And would you be interested in some of my dad's old video's? I enjoy watching them, considering that 90% of them are of Wing cars i mean who wouldn't like watching them.

Dan, if the bank still has all the old loan paperwork, that would be an AWESOME way to get the VIN numbers! All of the event videos that I have are of footage that I shot. I'd love to see some of the footage your dad shot back in the day. Stuff like that is just TOO cool!

Well i know that i have some pics from the 79 meet, and i also know that i have video of just about every meet we went to from 80-86. My dad has always been a photo/video nut. As he always worked with the deaf, and as we all know when you can't hear, your very adept to using visual aids. So along those lines he has always had many camera's and video camera's. Also what kind of a camera do you use to video tape with now? Is it a digital 3 chip camera? For photo's do you use 35mm, or digital? And if its digital is it the Nikkon D100? I love that camera. I'm a bit of a photo nut myself, and video nut. I have some video from the nats this year, and i am always photographing, and videoing cars that i go and look at.

Dan, I use a JVC hand-held mini-dv camcorder for doing show car stuff and a Panasonic commercial shoulder-mount mini-dv camcorder for doing the drag racing coverage. They're both awesome and I really enjoy working with em!
