Hi

I have a few Mopar original 11" 727 Torque Converters on the shelf. I have bought them years ago from swap meets and now I would like know what stall speeds they have if I could use them for my current project.

I know that depending on the original engine+tranny set up, the 11" Mopar original TC's are having a wide scale of different stall speeds, but how can you identify old torque converters when they are loose?

Those that I have dont't have the usual 7 digit Mopar part number stamped on them. They have 4 and 3 digit numbers and some letters.

I have seen sometimes on old TC's a triangle shaped sticker printed LO STALL or HI STALL, but non of those I have, has that sticker.

What can I do to identify the torque converters I have

The reason there is a wide scale of stall speeds is because different power inputs will result in different stall speeds in the same converter.

The 3 and 4 digit numbers vary with the rebuilder so it's near impossible to predict a stall speed without knowing which factory configuration the rebuilders number replaces.
