After several months, I finally have made some progress and have some pics!

I bought the truck as a 1994 Dakota with full interior (bench seat), AC/PS/PB/CD player, 392 Eddy Headed small block, 727 with trans brake, Dana 60 with 4.30 gears, ladder bar coil over, 3300 lbs with me in it.

Making only a few runs, I went 11.7's on motor through Summit mufflers. The motor has a Hughes .540, 228 @ .050, 114 lsa hydraulic roller, pump gas, box stock Eddy heads, 950 hp carb, M1 Intake.

It was set up to run nitrous and I was told by the previous owner it has gone low 10's on nitrous, but I never sprayed it (wasn't interested).

Now the changes....

I have put in SRT-4 buckets, new carpeting, moved the shifter and a center console from a 2000 Dakota.

I had a 12 point CM cage installed going from the front frame rails all the way to the back shock mounts. The requirements was to maintain the full interior, including headliner, all door panels, etc. I will have pics of that soon.

The motor came out and I had it partially filled, did some home porting on the Eddy heads, Enconel exhaust valves, 9.5:1 turbo pistons, 6.200 H-beam rods, 2 bolt billet main caps.

I am replacing the carb with a FAST system.

I changed out the gears to 3.54 and am going to run 315/60/15 Drag Radials.

The 727 was freshened up with new steels, Kevlar bands, extra clutches.

The turbo will most likely be a 76 mm unit with an Air to Air intercooler. I don't have the exact specs on the turbo yet.

Here are some pics of the heads, block and mock up of the motor. I have to get a very thin wall socket for the head bolts because of the springs.

Hope yall enjoy!

Nice looking build. I'm gonna go off topic a little but what would one of these trucks weigh pretty much drag race ready all excess weight cut out, glass hood and bumpers, race brakes, etc.

One day I will have something cool here.

I have a carbon fiber front end, glass hood, aluminum rims, rear roll pan. Everything else is stock and the truck was about 3300 lbs with me in it (Im a svelt 160).

Full out race like you said with lexan, more fiberglass parts, no interior, no dash, no AC/PS/PB, aluminum radiator, not stock steering wheel, I bet you could get it to be 2800 lbs + driver (not tube chassis, front or back-halved.

nice build...im sure it will be well into the 9's

Too badd its hard to find something numerically lower for that dana..cause im sure that turbo would enjoy some 3.23's with how light it is

i run 3.23s in mine on 8psi its been 125mph on a 28inch tall tire plus its a little softer on the launch and turbos love a the load factor

Whatever you do don't stop this good breathing smallblock with a restrictive turbo.....something like a PT-88 would be a monster on there....I made 900rwhp through a 727 on a motor very much like yours with twin p-trim 61's.....enough to go 128mph in the 1/th at 3500lbs....Now twin 74mm gt42's...everything looks good so far.

Gutted interior, race buckets,carpet,8pt roll bar,aluminum rad,440,alum heads,intake, rear roll pan,steel front bumper,alum wheels, gutted engine bay and trimmed inner fenders,727, 8 3/4,CalTracs.. 3280 w/o my 180 lbs in it.. ran a best of 11.73 1/4.

When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

It has ladder bar/coil overs.

Got the motor fired up last night...so off to the turbo shop this weekend, hopefully!
