Working on replacing my trans mount...but seem to have a problem.

The mount on the left is the mount that I pulled off the car and the one on the right is the replacement from Rock Auto.

As you can see there is a difference between the two..the one on the car was on there when I bought the car and has obviously been modified.

Is the one on the left the correct part???

Thanks,

Jason

The one pic of the rock auto part looks like mine.
They also are made with a option of the poly bushing. It is a nice option have seemed to last with both my road runner and barracuda

What was I thinking....

I see the enlarged mounting holes now slots on the old one. Were they actually needed with the current setup? If the new mount bolts up OK I'd use it.

If not, time to figure out why the slots were needed. Motor mounts slipped? Different transmission X member? Changed transmission type (904-727?)

I know on my 85 truck I have had to mod each tranz mount to get it even close(india/china mounts)

could be another reason it was modded like mentioned

I would mock it up and see if it all lines up and bolts on...if so run it

I have had bad MM that kicked the tail shaft to one side and would eat tranny mounts

and brackets on the wrong side of the engine block ears/lugs will cause trouble also

my inda tranz mount on there now,I had to cut the slots holes open on one end and the bolt/washer only hits 1/2 of the flange

I have to retorque it every so often or it get to clunking when braking and shifting r-to-d

got tierd of fooling with parts that dont fit and hickabilly it was

I think a better made in the usa mount wold be best..if they even have that any more

good luck with it
