Just wondering if carburetors were switched if I would notice a difference in all around performance. I have the K6900 summit cam with headers and weiand 8007 intake. I feel the carburetor holds back some top end and passing power with the 600. Thoughts? Thank you in advance.

The T.Q. is going to have the best calibration since it is an oem carb. All 4 major circuits will be more correct as-is VS the Edelbrock as-is. But with that said, I do believe that the Edel. would work well and worst case, simply get a tuning kit for the Edel. and tune the carb as needed. It has been my experience that a stock pre '75 T.Q. VS an Edel. 600 on a mild 340-360 will have the advantages of better gas mileage and performance. Know that a T.Q. will 'tune' externally on all four circuits without the need for tuning parts and that is the beauty of a T.Q. As with any carb, if it is in need of rebuilding, it will suffer in performance. I personally like the T.Q. the most since it offers the following advantages:
1)small primaries for exceptional gas mileage,
2)black phenolic bowl that keeps gas temps 20-25 degrees cooler=more performance in summer heat,
3)very easily tuned on all circuits externally,
4)makes very good power!
This is also true even with bolt-on mods to the engine, David.
