I got a 440 in my truck that i just freshened up last year, rings, bearings, solid roller cam, aluminum victor heads, HV oil pump etc. About a month after i got it on the road it spun a rod bearing.... so i pulled it apart, had the crank ground,(rod journals only) got new bearings for it, mains and rods, looked and cleaned everything over well and put it back together. Now when i bring it up over 4000rpms or just hammer on it the oil pressure drops 10 or so psi then kinda fluctuates around 50psi or so. Never had any oil press issues with this engine before ever???

If your using a stock pickup check your screen for garbage(plugged partially)

Had a hemi that did this. Chased it down and when I disassebled the oil pump it had suffered some damage. Metal got into the pump vanes and really scored them. Oil was leaking around. Replaced the pump and problem was fixed. The key words here are "Chased it down".

Cool thanks guys, i cleaned everything out good and made sure nothing was in the pickup but who knows... the nice thing about big blocks is the external pump!!!! I have an old pump that was good i can try.
