Brian, re-read the better scans I sent you, a couple of the first batch oversized somehow. The FSM is quite clear on how to do this both removal and installation why kill yourself searching the net on how to do this??? They are clear now. Being I'm fairly green in the 72 B body arena, is any-one aware if there was an April or whatever month change or any FSB making this headliner available to the public in the "Hardboard" style? I'm aware it wouldn't change the roof style but, If it was, and your car had it, that would just open up a bigger can of worms for your hardware needs. Please let us know when you get to the bottom of this whole situation.

I hired a hot rod interior specialist with over 30 years experience to install the headliner in my '72 RR because I had never installed one before. He had some difficulties doing the job and when he had finished, it just didn't look right. I finally pulled it back down myself and discovered that he had installed it backwards. Once I turned it around, it fit perfectly. I had to turn the offset-mounted dome light around to cover the incorrectly placed hole cut but everything looks beautiful and there are no wrinkles anywhere. I thought that I was going to learn how to install a headliner from this "professional". And I did. Good luck!!!

Did yours have any clips on the bows or were they just stabbed in the holes?

Hold the phone here, no clips used on the 72' 2dr b-bodies. The bows fit directly into the roof supports, three holes of varying heights at each location. Installation starts at the rear-most bow and works forward, two smaller wire retainers anchor the rear bow to the support above back glass.
