I would love to see pictures of a 1960 Chrysler 300F that was set up as a Street/Hot Rod. I have yet to see one. They are so cool looking.

Im not looking for one personally; a street rod co-worker of mine says that he has never seen one pro-streeted and would be interested in doing one with a big inch HEMI. I can picture a black one in my head with a full cage, 4 link rear and a 14-32 tire out back; all while retaining all teh stock exterior trim, mouldings/chrome and sheetmetal. I would just like to see one. As for the differance between a 60 and a 62, there is a a huge differance in the front end, especially with the headlights. I love those fins, I think they are the nicest fins of all cars that ever had any.

The difference between the 60' and the 62' are the sheetmetal and trim. As far as the fins, the 57's -59's were pretty COOL also. The 60'-62's WOULD be good pro-street car, but they are kinda HEAVY!! Lot of work. They all ARE beautiful cars!!

I read somewhere that the 62 was one of the lightest 300s, at least compared to older ones.
Earlier versions were built on a 126-inch-wheelbase New Yorker chassis; 62-4 300's, letter or not, were built on the 122-inch-wheelbase Newport/Windsor chassis.

...Well i stumbled on a pic of the one i remembered, but not the inside mag pic i was looking for. This is a warn cover pic, a little irritating that there's a pic on the cover & no pic of it inside. I used to get complaint's from store owner's back in the 80's for browsing through mag's before i would buy. This was why. When i stumble on the better pic I'll post it

Here is something I did in my young days (back in 1974/75) It's not a 1960 Chrysler 300 F, but a 1960 DeSoto Adventurer 2 door hardtop. The body is axactely the same tho', with the big fins, but with a 122" wheelbase instead of 126 on the 300 F.
I kept the body pretty original, but with some nice "Rocket" 5 spokes wheels. I did all the interiorwork myself, including the dash and console.
383 cid bored .030 over with all the goodies available to me back then. Still got the car, but it hasn't been on the road for many years. Working on the body and a bit "updating" these days.Hope you like it.
Einar in Norway.

Another '60 DeSoto Adventurer 2 door hard-top I had back around 1980. Attending an indoor carshow in Tønsberg, Norway approx. 1980. All stock (383 cid) except for interior and wheels. Stupid enough selling it, and regretting. Einar.
