Began resto of airgrabber hood yesterday.
Does the square trim ring with the studs for the air cleaner cover & the door hinge come off the hood?
If so, How...It looks to want to come off but I don't want to pry

Thanks,
Mike

No, it's spot welded on.

That certainly makes restoring this hood alot of work.
Can you/someone tell me what function the air soleniod serves. It seems un-needed. Does the
system look for power from the run side of the ignition before the airgrabber will open??

Forgive me but,
just turned 25,
my experience with these cars is limited
Thanks Again

I believe it allows the scoop to close when the car is turned off with the scoop up (when it sees the ignition cut it releases the vacuum).

Also, not all cars have them, not sure why.
