Been letting mine die from fuel starvation, then crank after a few seconds to fire off the last of the fuel dripping from the lines. Not totally satisfied I am getting all the moisture out as noted by the cylinders/rings. What is your method, and ring cylinder wall life?

i have a 528 wedge with a terminator kit and fuel primer. i always hit the fuel primer for a good 10-15 seconds after it starts running out of alky, i usually due this at the end of each race day when i park it.

I've often wondered how you guys did this, seeing that alky is hard on engines as far as corrosion goes. I use to be a hardcore kart racer and after a day of racing I would actually shut off the alky and put my fuel line in a gal can of WD-40 and run it on that.

When I ran my jr, we would pull the fuel line before the pump and connect it to a gas can so it would basically just run on gas (dead rich) and die.

I have Rons primer plus. I let it run on gas for a bit before shutting it off then spray WD40 into it while turning the engine over.

I pull the barrel valve about 3/4 shut. Run it cycling the water pump and fan to build some heat near 200 degrees. Then close the barrel valve all the way, let it die from lake of fuel then I pull the breathers and any valve cover vents and let it steam out.
Seems to really help..

Thanks, guys. I think the primer plus deal is probably the best solution, just been resisting putting more "stuff" on the car.

Send it to rehab?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

best investment I ever made with mine...I still had the old fuel cell and lines coming from the trunk, so I run my Primer plus off a 5gallon fuel cell in rear with Holley blue pump. Works awesome the only time I run mine on alky is for about 30seconds during initial warm-up to check for leaks and such and I run the primer plus at all other times. switch from Gas to alky while rolling into the burn-out box, then alky back to gas before I even hit the turnoff at end of track. been running that way for a few years now, and after the last run of the night, let it heat up good on way back to trailer to remove any moisture, load up and go home.

I've always just got the motor up to 180 and water and alcohol will evaporate out on it's own.

So on my last pass I will cycle off the water pump and fan to get the temp up over 180 when I get back to the trailer. Make sure that I get it aligned with the trailer so I don't have to start it again after I shut it off and the oil look as clean as the day I put it in.

I used to change my oil a lot because everyone else did but now I'm using synthetic oil and I haven't changed it yet this year and I probably won't. I will change the filter a time or two, cut it open to make sure everything looks good but the oil can't be broken down, I doubt 300 passes is equivalent to 500 street miles. (sorry not sure why I got off on that)
