Make sure the gauge is accurate before you start spending a lot of money fixing something that MAY not be a problem. Seen plenty of faulty temp gauges.

Me too, I've seen some of the better bbrand gauges be off as much as 30 degrees down low(60 to 150 F) and similar up high 210 degrees is the norm on todays engines, make sure yours does not detonate If the motor won't cool down by driving it at speeds above 45 MPH you probally don't have a big enough radaitor, been there, done that One other thing to try is to drain and flush that antifreeze out of the car and try distilled water, especially if the car has ever had green antifreeze in it before. The two types do not mix, they will gel up or something like that and make the motor run hot IHTHs
