I run a 511 stroker Indy aluminum heads, 6 pack an automatic w/manual valve body and stall gear vendors 373 gear with a mancini aluminum radiator. Runs hot around 230. Hasn't boiled over but I sure would like to cool it down or is this typical due to High performance. Any sugestions on cooling it down. I have an aux. fan too. What are the best hoses for dissipating heat? Or higher pressure radiator cap.

Hoses won't matter It won't change.IMO that's too hot.Mine run's 210 at idle and 195 driving.I wouldn't even drive mine at 230.Are you sure your temp is reading right?

Try back off the timing a couple of degrees and see what happens. I was running wat 35 and backed of to 32 and picked up ET and the engine temp went from 200 to 190 tops on a hot day.

OK, Sorry it took so long! The radiator is a Mancini 22" aluminum Musclecar series. i have a flexalite fan along with an electric flexalite pusher fan. The shroud also comes from Mancini. The fan blades are approx. 3" from the radiator. The water pump is and aluminum Mopar Perf. Thermostat is a 160 and the cap is a 16#. I use the orange antifreeze.

Make sure the gauge is accurate before you start spending a lot of money fixing something that MAY not be a problem. Seen plenty of faulty temp gauges.

Me too, I've seen some of the better bbrand gauges be off as much as 30 degrees down low(60 to 150 F) and similar up high 210 degrees is the norm on todays engines, make sure yours does not detonate If the motor won't cool down by driving it at speeds above 45 MPH you probally don't have a big enough radaitor, been there, done that One other thing to try is to drain and flush that antifreeze out of the car and try distilled water, especially if the car has ever had green antifreeze in it before. The two types do not mix, they will gel up or something like that and make the motor run hot IHTHs
