I just wanted to give an update on a friends car. Tube chasis Omni, 392 SB, W5 Head, 93 mm turbo. Car went 9.40 at 174 starting like grandma hitting it at about 330 mark and on and off throttle thru the 1/4. He just wanted a 9 second pass for his license. The thing is crazy fast. He was the fasted (mph) car of the day. Next best was a 7 second rail car that went 7.74 @ 170. The car should be able to pull 200 on a good day. What kills me is he's running a 4k stall and 3.73 gears!

most of the big dogs run a 3.50 or taller gear now... make the torque work for them.

I want to be there when he uses the brake and keeps in the gas for a full pass.
P.S. he's only running 12lbs of boost and NO COOLER.

I'll try next time out. It looks like a hunk-o-junk but it hauls tail.

One of my friends that runs fords has played musical gears for years depending on the combo, his street car is a fox body with 3.55's and a glide that runs over 9k out the back if he's running a grudge race, his wifes car is a SN95 grocery getter with an AOD and 3.27's, runs 10.0's with a 306.

Back when he had a 306 on spray in his Fox body he had to run 4.30's to get it moving.
