We are trying to remove the roll pin that fastens the steering lock plate in place on the steering shaft. The manual says not to try and knock it out with a punch (I can see why because there is nothing to brace it against). The manual calls for steering shaft to lock pin plate tool. special tool number C-4113. Where can we find this tool?

The shaft is still in the the car. The manual says not to use a punch. I am thinking that this is because if you tap it the shaft just wiggles (not rigedly held) and perhaps stresses the other end of it. Did you have the shaft out of the car when you punched it out?
Thanks, Rebecca

thanks for the pic. my punches look different. I guess they are not roll pin punches. I will get some and then ponder some more about whether I should try and tap it out with the shaft still in the car (unbraced - kind of hard to tap it). Rebecca

Sounds like we found the solution. Thanks so much. I will look for a proper set of roll pin punches this weekend. Our ultimate goal is to replace the fried ignition switch.
