Never seen a kit that include a vr.

That is because the VR is irrelevant. The ignition system doesn't care it there is a charging system there or not as long as the battery has enough voltage to fire the ignition.

Well after trying every possible option with my electronic ignition, I took it all out and put in my old worn out points distributor. It runs 100% better. I finally got to melt some rubber off the tires! The new motor combo seems to make good power. I will definately need to upgrade to some stickier tires! It will spin through all 3 gears. Now I have to see if Jegs will take this Proform kit back. There has to be something defective in the kit. I am assuming it is the ignition module...but I don't know for sure.

Either leave the points in it or get a pertronix ignition Really hard to mess up with that kit two wires and a insert on the dist.By no chance does the control box have 5 contacts does it?

No it only has 4. I have the company sending me a new ignition module for free. I will try it and see what happens. If it still runs bad, then I am going to order a reman. distributor and a pertronix kit. (my old stock dist. is worn out)
