anybody have any results or pointers. I'm thinking i'd like to try this cheap race gas .carb is a 700 dp w/a proform mainbody pn 67100c .motor is 11.6-1 408,eddy heads by RyanJ,260/266 590ish lift(flat-tappet)cam going in a 3300lb 4-speed a-body 4.10 gears ,my understanding is by the quick fuel "kit"& high speed air bleeds and your done ??

Perhaps 440Jim will see this and offer his experience. I would go to the E85 Forum. Alot of help over there. But from what I've read it will probably require a booster change as well. Jim

Good luck with that Send the carb to someone that does E85 conversion. Cost me a bunch to learn that. Go to the E85 forums and read. When you get ready to send the carb out PM me and I will give you the carb shop that did mine. Almost spot on and real responsive to any adjustment.Make sure who ever does your carb takes into the conversion the motor specs and car specs and trans specs. All will add into the final carb build.

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

I did my own conversion using a kit from Raceone85.com last season and did one myself for a friends car this season. Used the QF blocks on that one and did the rest of the mods myself.

I did have the boosters enlarged to .170 from the .160 gas boosters. The main reason for the booster change is to flow enough fuel at high RPM. The .160 is just a little to small and you can go lean in the high RPMs.

Also need to up the squirters, mine are 42s in my carb and 45s in the one I did this season. The jetting on the two setups actually came in about 2 sizes higher than the gas jetting, due to more flow from the blocks and boosters. I started 8 steps higher and leaned it down. Always safer to start rich.

The other mods are the air bleeds and both carbs I did seem to like HSB .025-.026, IAB .058-.060.

On the fuel system you will need to flow 30% more than would need on gas. My setup was overkill to begin with BG400 pump BG5000 filter -10AM line to -8AN to the carb so I didnt have to change anything. My buddys cars had an Aeromotive 140GPH pump and an Aeromotive fuel filter and no issues.

The stuff is killer when tuned up right. My car this past weekend ran 11.194-11.195 5 passes in a row. My buddys car went 11.332-11.336 in 6 passes.

Any other questions let me know.

this is the set up on my dads car

I am using a stock Holley base plate with the Proform 750 main body,

Quick Fuel blocks

.130 SS needles,

57/28 air bleeds,

QF 4 window 4.5 PV in primary side,

88/94 MJ ,

also using 30cc pumps with the green diaphrams,

I also use a Holley blue pump with the cheap regulator that comes with it.

#45 shooters

best on E85 off the trailer with NO TUNING yet is 11.12

on gas was 10.98

i started 10 jet sizes bigger

the boosters in the 750 proform main body are plenty for E85 for that size carb

DIY and save some money

I have a new factory Holley HP series 750 DP that has never been bolted on. It is an alchohol carb, list 80535-3. I got it in trade and have no use for it. It sells for $745 at Summit, if you can use it, $350, might be cheaper than a conversion? Let me know if you are interested. Lee.
