If you still have the piece that came off it may be able to be welded on and redrilled.

Or you could look at it as a good reason to up grade to an alum head

The piece that came off is long gone. I found it when I was replacing the leaking valve cover gaskets. The engine needs overhauled. Was thinking of just a patch untill rebuild. Would love to stick on some eddies.

I would JB Weld a stud in there and use a nut...

Clean area good with brake clean and go for it. You will more than likely never have a problem with it.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!

If you haven't used JB weld before, install your stud and let it sit 24 hrs before touching it again. The stuff works great, but needs time to cure.

You may have enough material below to just drill and
tap farther down the hole... then if you wanted to add
some JB weld to make it look nicer... either way locktite
and a a stud

What heads are those?
I have a set of '69 906 heads off
my 440. I got a set of Edelbrocks so I don't need them.
$30. and you can have them.
I live between Cleveland and Akron.

Thanks for the offer. The heads are 906. I will probibly JB in a stud. I have another set to use if needed. Didn't want to have to tear it apart until winter.

I ended up using some thead locker on a stud and a thin film of mopar gray rtv around that corner. It's been run about 30 miles now and no leaks.
