OK, was checking over the new addition yesterday and noticed the leaf springs on the 64 Valiant are marked 62-65 B-Body Pass-side 5-leaf, Driv-side 4-leaf. They have quite an arch to them and the rear sits higher that I'd like, but the shackles are angled perfect and they look to be fairly new...????? I was thinking of flipping the front spring hanger and going with a 2" block....plan is for 15"x 8" Rally Wheels with a 28" MT ET Street Radial P275/60R15 28 X 11.50R15 9.5" Tread 11" Sidewall.....I believe they will fit with the 4.6 backspace without getting into a mini-tub The spring look like my old SS Springs I had on the Challenger, but that was too many years ago Correcting the pinion angle won't be a problem. What do you guys think...run em....????? Rickster

I'd suggest just move the springs in and get it over with. It's cheap, a piece of cake to do and gives you a boat load of room.
275/60R15 BFG T/A Radial on a 10" wheel. Narrowed 8 3/4, half tub.
First off....Sweet Valiant and sits perfect...
Don't want to tub it and the MT on an 8" rim will give me all I want in tire....more interested in info on these springs...????? Are the early-A and B-Body springs the same spec...???? I wouldn't think so....but want to find out

Thanks....haven't measured but they must be 20" as the wheel is centered in the well....I figure they will work and the front segment is very stiff...will flip the front hanger and see where that gets us and then if more is needed toss in a 2" block. From what I'm seeing that should get us close to the ride height we're looking for.

Very nice! You guys are killin' me w/ these early As. My first car was a '65 Valiant 2 dr. post w/ a 340/727/8 3/4-3.55 SG. I've been looking for another one for a while but can't find one local (got excited about the one for sale this month but it's in California ). Rick, I hope you post a lot of pics.
No kidding, I had to travel 2700 miles to snag mine

Yeah, not only early A sedans, but most of them seem to be white! I want one, too. Should be a part # on the springs, which will let you know the application. IIRC, the front section length did start @ 20", then increase, on the early Bs. The wheel & tire you want to run will pretty much dictate spring location, tub size, and possibly wheel-opening length.

Played around with some wheel measurements yesterday and it looks as if a Wheel Vintiques 15x8 with 4.6 back-space will do the trick....will get better measurements once I get it in the garage.
