i wa looking at a cuda rear 1/4 panel-it still has the original part number tag on it-what makes me wonder though is--did the original OEM quarter panels have the sail panel portion on them or not? The sail panel is the portion of the car body that gos between the top of the quarter panel and the roof-the sail panel would be right behind the 1/4 window. Also what would an original OEM quarter panel be worth for a 70 71 Cuda thanks

The 70/71 E body hardtop panels did have a sailpanel on them from the factory. The convertible panels did not. They just have a stamped step where the convertible well trim fits. The hardtop panels have a very small sailpanel on them. It starts at the bottom of the rear quarter side window and goes up on an angle about maybe 5 inches where it would step into the rear window channel. The hardtop 70-71 panels, depending on it's condition usually sell for between 2 to 4 grand. They may have come down some in price since the new OEM style reproduction Cuda rear quarterpanels are now available. 70-71 Cuda panels will always command a premium over the 72-74 panels. If that rear quarterpanel that you are looking at is a convertible panel,I have personally seen asking prices for those into the 10 grand and beyond range! Buy it now! Those are literally as good as having gold bars in you safe! There are no plans to reproduce any convertible E body rear quarterpanels! Don't snooze on that one!

And at $10 grand, you see the same couple at the same swap meets, year after year, after year...

People told me that about the NOS Challenger convertible rear quarter panels I had too. I know Challenger convertible panels are worth about half what Cuda panels are worth. I got the ten grand for the pair that I was asking for them. You just have to find the right buyer. I did. Those Challenger convert panels are going on one of the 99 Sixpack convertibles built in 1970. If he bought that, assuming that it is a 70-71 Cuda convertible panel,I'd put that on E bay with a ten grand reserve, and see what it brings. During the peak I saw one at Carlsile for 15 grand,it had been reprimed, and I didn't see it the next year. The same vendor is there every year.

He still has that NOS 70-1 Cuda convert quarter, wants 12K for it. Thats the only NOS 70-1 Cuda convert quarter panel at the east coast shows!

I've seen two at Carlsile. One was in factory grey primer, and the other was reprimed in red oxide. I've only seen the red one once. They are extremely rare, thats why I was telling the OP that if he is looking at NOS Cuda rear quarterpanels that do not have sailpanels on them, and they are not cut or buchered hardtop panels,he better buy them now!
