The calculator HemiFred posted works really well. I clicked on Thompson Dragstrip and typed in the date that I ran 9.82, it was 11-11-09. The high that day was 52 degrees! DA was 544. Corrected ET actually slows a tad to 9.83.

Yesterday's DA shows 3000 and my 10.06 corrects to 9.81.

I'm gonna leave the motor alone and work on the traction, should run hard if it hooks on a cooler day.

Its always nice to know what the corrected ET is...
but it doesnt mean a thing... you werent racing at
at a sea level track.... but I guess you can use
that number for bragging rights if you wanted (I dont),
the ONLY number I use is on the time slip I have
in hand... JMO

If you are making changes from week to week, it will let you honestly compare them. Takes the weather factor out.

I think it's very useful. I'm not gonna tell someone my car runs a certain number because of what that calculator says but it's a great piece of information. I was boggled by the fact that I was a couple tenths off pace from last time out, DA was 544 last time out, this time was 3000ft! That's much needed info in my book. The rest of the ET loss was from a slippery track. And the temperature they list for last November is correct at 52 degrees, that was the high that day. Lol

That is a useful tool.
Just use it for what it is.

If you can get the actual temp and humidity at the track, you can use that website to estimate the track elevation and barametric pressure. That improves the tools accuracy, and temp and humidity gauges are a lot cheaper than something with barometric pressure.

I have seen the local temperature to vary from the "airport data" (sometimes yes, sometime no), but the pressure corrected for track elevation is pretty accurate since pressure doesn't change much in 20-50 miles (except for elevation change).
