A friend of mine has this cab from a 1951 American LeFrance fire truck. I keep looking at it and can't help but think this would make some kind of cool project. Kind of like what Mopar Ron does. He wants to sell the thing so give me some inspiration. What would you do to this.

OK, I gotta ask, is the back of that cab open? That front end hangs way ahead of the front axle, looks like it might work as a car hauler but can't think of any other use, unless of course you thinking of going into fire prevention.....Gene

That would make a great cool car hauler

But it would take some real thinking on how to make the steering hook up

I had a picture of one done up as a car hauler but I just looked and couldn't find where I put it Ron..

Steering setup out of a motorhome perhaps..similar long front overhang...

Or even a couple of right angle boxes to angle the steering shaft the right way..

The back of the cab is open and the motorhome chassis just might be the ticket

wild and crazy thought;
Set it up like an old fuel coupe, with the body covering the rear tires and a frame and engine sticking out the front.

another

It would have to all be oversize like the roadsters the guys have built out of fire trucks and tank engines before.

Or a motorhome chassis with a rollback, bed or a ramp on the back.

Find a chassis like the motor home above and either make a ramp bed car hauler or get a airstream trailer and mate it to the cab and have a unique motor home

That is exactly what came to my mind when I saw that cab. Would definitely be interesting.
