5 i'm pretty excited to be working on it a little since it's been sort of a place to stack stuff on in the garage for a LONG time. it's cool to see my ideas finally amounting to something. i hope to began the body work soon, but i may wire the car first and get the brakes working soon as well. the list of things to do is plenty long.

Reminds me of my first car; a '61 Phoenix. We nicknamed it "The Beast". It had a solid lifter polysphere 318. Plexiglass in the rear window is worth .2 in the quarter.
Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

That's awesome! What are you thinking for color? Drivetrain?
i've had a color picked out for about ten years, but now am rethinking it.... as for a drivetrain, i would love to do a big hemi, but most likely a blown 440ish wedge.

Cool piece!! Love the "square" wheel on it in the midst of all the serious parts. Looks like ya got a little engine setback goin' on there...
yeah, the square wheel HAD to stay... it's too easy to put a "normal" wheel in it. it took some work making the mopar square wheel fit on the genaric motors aftermarket column. i'm trying to keep a mopar/pentastar theme with this car.
as for the engine setback, yes... there was plenty of room, so why not?!
i'll post a couple more pics. let me know what you all think

I'm thinkin' a cool motor would be an RB, longram style, but twin turbo'd, either blow-through carbs, or EFI with the turbos where the longram carbs would be... Inboard headlamps look like a good place to duct air from. Not sure what all the '61 color choices were, but that body style is wild enough that it doesn't need any graphics to stand out. Might be amusing to go with 2-toned stock colors, but that's just me.
i was considering turbos, and using the headlight holes also, but i just haven't warmed up to the idea of the engine compartment looking like my cummins dually's... the power would be great, but i'm old school i guess and am leaning towards a big azz blower sticking out of the hood. (i had a blower on a mild 440 before)
