Ran both days at the local 1/8 track Madras, met Jim Clark with the white 1966 SG Charger with the B1. I hope I spelled everyting right )went two rounds on Saturday and broke out after having computer glitches with the timing system on the first round , ended up doing a rerun and won that. Missed the dial on the second run, dialed a 7.35 and ran 7.314 on the brakes the wind switch from across the track to straight down the track , my stupid car sped up into the wind I was real late on the first round on Sunday and made it home in time to watch the NHRA race on ESPN2 Maybe its time for a hired gun Oh well, nobody wins them all Especially me I hope everyone else that raced this weekend did better than me

Cab there is NO way you could have stunk it up as bad as I did sunday. At least my shake issues are resolved so now I can concentrate on driving and not wrecking.

Cab

It was nice to meet you at the track.

Too bad none of us put a Mopar in the finals.

Maybe next time.

Well Cab, Our day was a little off too. We hit massive rain on the way to the track so the car(Dad's Challenger on trailer) was a mess. Got to the track and couldn't get the 60 fts into the 1.58's so 1.64+ had to do but were frustrating when suspension adjustments did absolutely nothing from run to run. Went out in round 3 by .006 to the points champ, who we beat last week. Then got shut down in the finals of a dash for cash (wopping 40 dollar purse) because a friend of ours hit the wall in his 55 chevy doing 80 or so MPH. Then, Dad's truck starts to make a noise like rods want out of the cummins block when we are 40 minutes or so from home. We make it home ( over the mountains ) only to have the flexplate completely dissintigrate as he backs the trailer along side the shop.
Sorry about the life story rant, but thought you might feel better about gettin home early to watch NHRA.

Don.

For some reason I cant be dead on a .000 on the tree every pass like the rest either.

Old age is a settin in I think....

Look at the bright side at least you can get in the car and race....

My back is screwed up and I have not been in the car and to the track for 3 weeks and this weekend is in doubt now.

I would trade 1st round loss for what I have went through the last few weeks any day!

My prayers are with you for a quick and immediate recovery I understand the pain of not being ablle to compete due to bad health and injurys I'm babying my left arm and shoulder to make sure that I don't agitate it again or injure again it before full recovery of the rotator cuff surgery

I was real late on the first round on Sunday and made it home in time to watch the NHRA race on ESPN2 I hope everyone else that raced this weekend did better than me

Cab (and others) Ya'll aint in that losing boat alone. Dash for cash, I dial 6.67 while at the trailer.Go to staging lanes, I'm the last one, I wach most of the cars run .02 or more over dial in. They point me to water box I hand my crew chief the dial in marker and have her change it to a 6.68. I run 6.6740. Son of a ... the guy that wins is 6.198 off of 6.18
First round I leave it dialed 6.68, run 6.6800. with a nice .1740 light. Real nice, opponant was .07XX on the tree. At least it was another mopar. I'm surprised my reaction wasn't worse than that, hard to see anything with sweat running into my eyes. Buy back, have to run my buddy (another Mopar). Car all over the place, drove about 700' on a 660' track . Buy back and red light. Go home and watch NHRA qualif.
Oh well, at least it's still in one piece.
Brian
