What the best match for color + sheen .
It's a 1970 Cuda steering column in black . Customer is far from interested in taking it 100% OE , but wants it nice.
So is there something in a rattle can thats real close or is mix + spray gun my only choice

I used Rustoleum Satin Black from a spray can which turned out pretty nice. Did a final mist coat from a foot or so away to give it a little texture.

Bill,
I've used Krylon 1613 black in the past and it looks good! I now use Rustoleum Black Textured Paint No. 7220830. I found it to be the closed to original in a rattle can. IMHO,it would be a tough call to tell the difference. Here's the link. http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=27

I think this might look pretty good for a spray can?

Newport paint still can mix DIA9388 which I think is correct for a 70, I know it is for 71.

I used VHT flat black engine paint on my challenger steering column and it looks pretty close to original.
