I have a LC-1 and SSI-4 wideband A/F setup I'm soon going to install in the challenger. I have a few ideas I want to throw out there and please let me know if what I'm thinking will work ok or cause me problems or not.

I want the SSI-4 to be setup to read/log RPM and 3 different 0-5Volt inputs.

One being Engine fuel pressure......any suggestions for a 0-5V fuel pressure sender?

2nd, Nitrous fuel pressure...again, I need a pressure sender (Hopefully not too expensive a part since I need 2 of these),

Also, I want it to read/log Nitrous pressure....I want to use my nitrous pressure sender that also goes to my in-car nitrous pressure gauge to provide that input. Will both the gauge and SSI-4 feeding off the same signal (which is 0-5volts) from this one sensor cause a problem? I wouldn't think it would...but I figured I should ask.

Rob, what is the SSI-4? I'm having troubles getting my new LC1 to talk and record accuratly with my LM1

Cab....this is a SSI-4:

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/ssi_4.php

It is a 4 channel simple interface....it logs rpm and 3 more channels of 0-5volts.

Are you trying to use the LM-1 together with the LC-1 to have a dual sensor/channel setup? Did you reprogram them to use the same voltage? I believe the LM-1 and LC-1 use different voltages by default but can be reconfigured to match each other. Also, I've read the LM-1 must be the first device in the chain when sing with an LC-1. You probably already know all that though...

Rob, I'm using the LM1 with the RPM converter interface and I did have to configure the LC1 to match the LM1. I have talked to two different techs at Innovate, Felipe(vey helpful) and Court(SP?). I'm going to switch the sensors from one side to the other and see if that proves anything, if not I will call Felipe and see if we can figure out what is wrong, I'll ask about how to run them in chain, I'm almost certain there not now I don't know how to do that. My LC1 is putting a square wave out on the data transferred to the laptop after recording a run I'll see what happens tomorrow and let you know on this post. BTW, I also have a FAST system, it has been in twice for repairs so far and I'm not a happy user yet

If you are running a carb (as opposed to fuel injection), try and run a fuel pressure sender (transducer) with a pressure range of 0-15psi or 0-25psi. I run the 0-100psi in my car and find the accuracy and resolution not good, given I am dealing with 6-7psi of fuel pressure.

There should not be any issue using the 5V source from the SSI4 to power 2 or more pressure senders, as the total current draw from both devices should not exceed the SSI4 300mA limit.

Some of the pressure senders (transducers) on the market do not need a 5V powered source, they run off a 12V source and output 0-5V.

Make sure you follow Innovates recommendations for grounding all the sensors and the SSI4, DL32, LC1 etc or your readings may be less that accurate.

Thanks B-stung...good info. I had thought about the 0-100 psi sensor issue....I wondered if that would be best. Anybody know a source of a cheapish low psi transducer?

Thanks for all the input...

Cab...thgis is what I found about your setup to use them in a chain:

Quote:

If an LM-1 is used as well, it MUST be the first device in the chain. The Mini-DIN8 to serial cable (P/N: 3759, not included) allows you to connect the Serial Port of the LM-1 to the Serial IN of the first LC-1.

I got the LC1 to work after doing another free air calibration per instructions from Felipe at Innovate He siad that the LC! would work with the LM1 with no changes, is does I talked to a freind who uses Race Pak data aquistion systems on his race cars(all three of them so far), He says to use a Race Pak brand sensor for all of your needs, NOS and all others. Don't skimp, he has and regets it, lost data is no good, inaccurate data is worse I ask him if they are zero to five volt senders and he says they are

cool that you got it to work....

I just looked up those sensors and they are $175 apiece (and I need 2)!

I found that the Autometer sensors look exactly the same....I suspect they are the same part. Those are only $100 each...

Are your inputs a 4 wire set up... you can find plenty
of the transducers for a 4 wire in the 0-5v range (which
most of the transducers are)

I'm not sure... It has a + and - for each sensor as well as a 5V power for external sensors. What would the 4th wire be? Ground?

Yes.... plus some use a 5th wire for shielding... just
depends on what your set up for

This website sells a 0-25psi transducer, 12 volt powered, 0-5V output.

I ended up buying 2 brand new autometer 15 psi transducers on ebay for about $33 each

Quicksilver440, appreciate if you can let us know how it works out, i am considering following suite and downgrading my 0-100psi transducer to a 0-15psi.
