Which program do you guys use that is the most accurate computer dyno? Comp? OR someone else? I am looking for something that will allow more that just standard engine information from drop-down boxes. TX!

It depends how much info you have on your motor. The really detailed programs require a ton of information.

PipeMax is a pretty good program to have if you're going to do much engine design. It was originally created for designing headers but it it pretty good in terms of predicting power output also.

Pipe max confuses me (not hard to do) Wants me to use impossible size cams, way longer collectors then possible on dragster or roadster, and intake runners I could only get with a sheet metal intake.

The program works very good for the headers... I ran
multiple sets on the dyno with good results... BUT...
you have to be able to package it

My motors never quite measure up to what PipeMax says they'll make but I have seen it work really well with pro-built motors. There might be some assumptions in PipeMax that have it biased towards pro type motors. Those motors tend to have less internal friction, lighter parts, etc.

I guess so... but I am quite a bit lower than the min
spec but it could be just my building... I;m a 100 HP low

I was real close to the average hp but headers, cam and intake were no where near what he suggested.LOL

I know my cam is small... its .700 lift and I knew I
should have gone to about .760... the program said .800
plus... but I didnt want to have to change springs on a
regular basis... I am thinking about having it re-ground
but I also cant believe it would have killed over
100+ HP... guess I was wrong... AGAIN

According to Pipemax I've never been right about anything. Think of the hp if I would just listen.

Engine Analyzer Pro is the most accurate program that I have used yet. However, as one member here has already stated... it's not exactly a user friendly program, and requires a great deal of highly detailed information to be accurate. Good program for the professional engine builder.

I have been using Dynomation 5, and it is OK. I think it costs $399.
