So today I fired up my 493 stroker for the first time. It was so amazing to see it alive I could've cried. Anyway, everything went smoothly except I noticed the distributor had a wobble to it. The hold down bolt was tight. So my question is, is anybody else running the steel gear intermediate shaft from 440 Source? I know that some of there stuff is made in China and I'm wondering if it is too, which COULD explain the wobble if the shaft isn't assembled perfectly. I'm gonna pull it out and inspect it when I get a chance. I'm also running the Melling high volume oil pump from them too.

Yes a good visual for anything not kosher and check the depth/fit of the dist tang into the inter gear slot

The distributor did feel like it bottomed out on the intermediate shaft, which is another thing that worries me. Maybe I'll throw a stock shaft in just to see if it changes anything.

before you pull it twist the rotor lightly back/forth & see if any play & then compare the length of the two side by side. you actually want no play (causes spark scatter and you'll see it on the jumping timing marks exp at idle) and most dist's have alot of play there and need the tang to be hit/expanded a bit to swell it to reduce the play to near zero and the added collar but your's may the rare one that has interference. the actual tang end may be a bit too long or not seated.
