Wasn't under full power. You can see the smoke stop after it was out of shape, but too far gone. I'd say Quicktree's explanation pretty much nailed it. Other thing to consider. If the engine dies on those trucks you'll lose your hydroboost assisted brakes.

I still see LOTS of stack smoke even after it went through the rail. Also notice the truck still TRAVELING under power in the grass.
Brutal ride!!!

he got off the throttle AFTER he got crossed up. just before he broke through the guardrail on the right side it looks like he inadvertantly got back into it again. probably thought he was on the brake. if you watch the fromt tires down track, you can see how bad he overcorrected. i hope he wasn't hurt...
