2nd one I've ordered and it doesn't fit right

Are they not all same for 727?

My buddy is helping me rebuild this and he is saying the valve body plate that was in there was already "drilled " for the shift kit, but it was drilled over size, allowing too much pressure to release too fast

He ordered a new one and this second one we just got doesn't fit just right didn't know if they made different models or series 727 vb's

THIS sounds like a "steaming-pile" to me.

In what way doesn't it "fit just right"?

So he don't know what he is talking about? This is my first tear down and rebuild so I'm learning as I go.

I am not "up" on the knowledge of recent shift-kits ... but what he said just does not seem right.

I'm going to head over to his shop tonight to look at it see what he is talking about

What questions should I ask him about that drilling he was talking about?

The link below is to TCI shift kit instructions, in figure 22 it shows the various holes in the steel plate that are enlarged....have him identify the hole in question and state the current diameter of the hole or, better yet, take a pic of the plate and post it here.
