Have a friend slowly rotate the crankshaft as you prime.

Will do. I'm only getting oil on the pass side rockers, so I'll be pulling the dr side rockers loose shortly.

....and BE SURE to use a rod that has some protection on it ....so the hex-shape will not damage the bushing.

HENCE .. the reason why I am having some of the hex-rods PVC coated so there is no worries there.

What is the reason to loosen drivers side rockers?

no need to pull the rockers, they get a "pulsed" oil supply as the engine rotates through the #4 cam bearing. that's why you want someone to rotate the crank as you prime.

If you have a priming rod that is prepped to protect from harming the bushing ...ALL you have to do is lay the drill up against the motor ...and you can bar-over the motor yourself.
