yakpenoose OP member Y Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 62 canada	i pulled a suregrip out of a 440 powered 1979 new yorker years ago...i just picked up a 1976 4 speed 318 volare with a 8.25 rear diff. is the new yorkers diff a 8.25 too? i want to install that sure grip into my volare

All that aside, the NYer probably has an 8 1/4 in it. Its easy enough to check. Look at the diff cover. If it looks like the diff cover in your Volare, its the same. If it looks kinda diamond shaped, its a 9 1/4 and wont work 1969 Nova 454/M21/3.31 Mild mid-11 second weekend cruiser 1994 F150 XLT Super Cab 2WD 5.0/4R70W/3.55 (Daily driver)
