I was wondering if anybody makes repoduction battery tops to fit new black batteries. Looking for 1970-71 style and 440+ sized engines.

There is someone that makes the group 24 toppers......... just google battery toppers.

I bought one..... it looks okay..... very realistic. BUT, it's not going to fool anyone.

I looked into them and found that the tops don't fit the hold downs and really don't look all that great up close. I used a interstate battery, removed all the stickers, painted the sides black and added the correct for my car yellow caps. I am much happier with this over the top.

Will the caps for the original style batteries fit the newer style (Interstate) batteries.

I had to remove the threaded area on the cap so it would push into the interstate battery.

Here's one. Looks nice and will fool most of the people at quick glance. Its a little wider than I would have liked, and needed to mod the holdown a bit. For me and my one of none big block 72 Challenger, its just fine.

Anyone make just the whole empty case?

Would like to stick inside one of those tiny, race batteries inside to reduce weight.
