sorry to go OT but as long as the subject of the AFT is being tossed around is there any reason NOT to use it on a 904 or 727 etc instead of a gasket?

yes,I have done that also

clean pan and tranz with brake clean and use the the mopar black atf/rtv

I smear a thin coat on the tranz flange and a thin coat on the pan

not a lot just a good thin coat, let set up 15 mins or so install it

I snug up the bolts with 1/4 ratchet, let cure over night, check agian in the am with the 1/4 ratchet and make sure its still snug

didnt leak till removed

that was in a pinch,I would rather use the new o-ring gasket from the dealer well worth the $ and upgrade to a reusable gasket

used it on all the engine stuff last go round with the sb..VC,intake end seals,wp,t-cover,fuel pump...even glued the dip stick tube into the block

thin coat on the gaskets and no leaks 4 yrs later still...now it blowing oil out the VC breather is another story
