Read too many horror stories about the cheapie rockers with their needle bearings. Stay away from rollers unless you absoloutely need them, ductile iron rockers will do a decent cam. How much cam did you really want to run?

Unless you are running a big cam with lots of spring pressure you will gain nothing with rollers.

I'm using Crane Gold rollers on my 440 with a 292/.509 Comp cam. The only problem I had was, I used the slightly wrong length pushrods and the cup of the pushrod dug out the rocker around the adjuster on 2 rockers. It ended up looseing the lock nut off the adjuster and I had some running issues.... Got 2 new rockers from Crane, the correct length pushrods (you want about 3-4 threads of the adjuster past the bottom of the rocker), double nutted the adjusters, been perfect since. I think they cost right around $350 from Summit. Hope that helps

I'd rather run "good" iron rockers than "cheap" rollers. I prefer the Isky's with the hardened tip inserts but I guess the Crane's are ok too.

Apart from poor construction (materials), just about every roller rocker on the market lacks the ability to spray oil on either the pushrod, springs or both. Even my top dollar Harland Sharp's only oil the pushrod.

The iron Isky's and the Crane's (both appear to have come out of the same mold) oil both the pushrod and the spring.

I made the mistake of buying a set of CAT rockers when they first came out. One of the adjuster broke while tighten it up. Put them on the self and never used them. They are junk.

Another vote for iron rockers I have Isky's on my car bushed from R.A.S. and the good shafts they offer too.Pretty much a bullet proof valve train with the Hughes billet holdowns and stud kit.
