i started taking the cluster out of my 74 satellite my gas gage is not working i grounded the wire from the sending unit for a sec to see if gas gage would move (used to work till i swapped out the dash harness so i think either the limteder is now bad or the wire came off on the gage so i need to take cluster out the top half is all loose but the bottom it still tight i havent undone the heater/ac controls yet just didnt know if there was some hidden screws holding bottom only (i can pull top out inch or 2)

There are 2 screws on the bottom of the dash attached to the housing, on either side of the steering column. Also the speedo cable will hold you back.

your not refering to the nuts holding the column to the dash are you? i have the column droped all the way down

Where the plastic housing goes around the column(upsidedown U)down under the lowest points, kinda behind the dash, are 2 screws. Lay on the floor and look up.

well thanks alot now if you would of told me that bout 3pm today i would been done by now (prob not lol) but i got to lay the blame on someone lol

Don't feel bad. I pulled mine a couple weeks ago 'cause notning was working and couldn't figure what was holding it in. My back was hurting so I layed down(no front seats) and looked up and said D_ _ N, looky there, more screws. I still have problems though. See my post How can this be.
