I need to replace the trunk floor in my 68 Rpot Satellite convertible. The car will not be a show car but a very nice driver. Is the one piece floor worth the extra $$? From what I've seen it's basically twice the price.

If you're a good welder ( My welding isn't that pretty but I can run a grinder pretty good...) and a good body man the sectioned pan would probably work for a driver. With a mat in place they'll never know.

Unless you can magically fit a one piece floor through the trunk opening, go for it, but if you are like the rest of us, do the two piece. The factory put the trunk floor down first and built around it so you can't put a one piece floor through the trunk opening. I used the two piece floor from year one and was happy with the fit, not perfect, but is any aftermarket body panel?

you can see the pics of my trunk floor replacement.

Thanks!! I'm doing the quarters to so I can get a one piece in. I'm leaning toward teh two piece because of the cost factor.

Once you spend the money you will forget it, you will live with a two piece pan forever. You're doing the quarters go with the one piece.

Not having to weld the seam will definitely be a plus. I went with the two piece because that's what was available. Once the gas tank and filler tube are in place only a small bit of the seam can be seen from below. I chose to finish mine but I doubt anyone will ever see it to appreciate it.

I've done 3 of these 2 piece trunk pans, all on 70B bodies. The gas tank does hide most of the seam and the visible segments can be finished off or, if an undercoated car, coated.

My next 70B involves a quarter replacement so I plan to try the full AMD pan if they ever get any more in.
