Seem I can't find 1/2" fuel line anywhere. You know,...rubber fuel hose. Can I just take the outer stainless steel mesh off of some -8AN braided hose and use the rubber? Seems totally fine to do that, but maybe there is something I do not know.

All the braided hose I've used, the stainless braid is molded into the rubber. It's part of the design strength of the hose.
If it came off for ya I think it would be alright to use like that I guess?

What not leave it on there and use it like it is?

Trying to issolate the fuel pump with nothing but rubber, to reduce vibration / noise. I changed over to braided lines directly to the pump, and it is noticeably louder in the car. I'd like to go back to using a couple very short pieces of rubber hose to issolate that pump, again.

NAPA stores stock 1/2 inch fuel line normally Do you have a hydraulic hose or tractor supply store near you? If so check with them

I just called my local auto parts store and asked about 1/2" His store didn't have it stock but his other store had it in stock. So it's out there, might have to order it.

Good luck1

I put rubber between the pump and frame to isolate it there and made it real quiet. At least compared to the BG.

Basically made a spacer out of some 3/8'shose and slipped it over the bolt between the pump and frame.

I did put some blue Loc Tite on the threads to help make sure they don't come loose.

Well, my car has the pump totally rubber isolated from the body. This is a street car with full interior / full exhaust, so I'd like to keep the pump as quiet as can be.

I'll give Napa a call....thanks!

Proabaly don't want to hear this but some pumps are just plain louder than others. My Old Holley black I could barley hear even with the car off but the pump on the 72 is annoyingly loud. Not sure what brand it is but it resembles the holley type pumps in appearence.

I think my new MagnaFuel is quieter than either

I wouldn't
I don't believe it has the nylon reinforcement in the core
Why not use it with the braid and some gear clamps?
