Hello, I am new to the sight, and new to Mopars. I recently bought a 1971 Roadrunner, rm23n. I have been reading up on the differences between 71 satellites and roadrunners, and one major difference I read about was that Roadrunner's have brackets welded to the lower control arms to hold the stock front sway bar. Satellite's do not have front sway bars and do not have these brackets. Now, my roadrunner doesn't have a sway bar, and I cannot tell if it has just been removed, or, if my lower control arms are actually satellite lower control arms. Can anybody tell from these pictures if my lower control arms are from a roadrunner or a satellite?

Welcome aboard, and yes...those are sway bar tabs on your arms.

that is good news! Next question, are my lower control arms exclusive to the roadrunner or did they come from the factory on satellites too like the ssp?

That's a sway bar control arm and the K-frame sway bar bracket is visible as well. The bar and end links are missing, pretty easy to find replacements. Although most Satellites didn't have front sway bars, some did, would have been the same components standard on the Road Runner.

this site kicks ass. Now that we're on the subject, can you tell me all the differences between the 71 roadrunner and satellite?

so far, I know, or think I know, that the roadrunner has:

1. roadrunner emblem on steering wheel (if it's not the tuff wheel.)

2. roadrunner is printed circular around the satellite hood emblem.

3. standard rallye dash

4. roodrunner emblem on dash

5. standard front sway bar

6. standard 383 with the option to upgrade to the 440 magnum, 440+6, 426 hemi

7. Beep beep horn

8. standard dual exhaust

Am I wrong on any of these, and have I missed any?
