I am repairing a 1996 Neon with a 2.0L SOHC engine. I sent my brother-in-law to the dealer today to purchase a new ignition coil. He returned with the coil and a wire harness repair kit that the counter guy claimed was recommended to be installed in conjunction with the new coil. The part number of this kit is 5014007AB. This kit contains a three-position electrical connector that resembles the one attached to the coil primary and two sets of six wires (three light green and three violet). The color and gauge of these wires are not the same as the coil primary wiring. I have a factory service manual and can't seem to find any similar wires under the hood. Does anybody have a service bulletin that describes the purpose of this kit?

Let me know what you found. I got a 96 Breeze, same motor and I am running rich as to fail smog, high HC's unburned fuel. How does an OBD2 motor run rich with all new smog crap, ie cat, O2's, and cleaned injectors? Bad MAP sensor?
