Is there a propper way to pull the center pad off of a rim blow wheeel? I have heard they can break if done wrong. 70 cuda.

It just snaps on, you should be able to pull it straight back and get it off. Just be gentle...

The first thing you should do is mask the spokes with tape to prevent them from being scratched in case you slip. You need to use a stiff putty knife, slide it under the cap deep enough to reach the snap button near the center, gently pry while working around the cap. If you have an original plastic cap you should push the handle towards the dash, not to you. That way you don't put too much pressure on the plastic outer ring which may break. If it's an aluminum outer ring cap then it won't matter how you pry on it because it won't break.
