I have a 1970 Challenger 440 SIX PACK car that I am
finishing up and I have run into a problem.
I ordered "440 SIX PACK" emblems for the hood
and the prongs dont match the holes in the hood.
I believe the hood to be original to the car.
Were ther different emblems for differnt cars?
Here are a few pics of the hood and emblem.
Can someone help me figure this out?

Your holes are right. Where did the nameplates come from? Looks like J.A.Pan & Company. I am thinking low quality repro's. I think Chrysler has redone them maybe in their MP line. Usually they add a P to the front of the original part#. Phone your local dealer and ask if P2998804 is a good part#. I have originals here, and they match the holes on your hood.

I had the same issue in reverse. When I got the car it had 71 4 barrel emblems on it. Turns out I had a hood with holes for a 70 six pack/hemi and needed one for a four barrel. After much debate I welded the original holes shut and drilled new ones.

Yours had 2 pins then? the 3404barrel(3443247) and 440magnum(2998802) were a smaller nameplate with 2 pins right?

That is a good number. I ordered 2 of them from my local dealer. Thanks.

I believe your problem to be that those emblems pictured look to be 71 style emblems, & the 70 style emblems were different.

Honestly I can't remember it was a couple of years ago. I've still got the old 71 440 Magnum emblems in the attic. Now that I think about it them 71 emblems were from a Charger, not a Challenger. Someone got creative. I can check it out tonight.

You are right, the big (3443516) 440magnum nameplate was for Chargers. If you look at my pic it is the biggest one there, same pins as the 70 Chally 440sixpack and 426Hemi ones, which match BADBEE's hood. the 70 used that smallest one for the U code cars, 2998802 (you do not see it often) it has 2 pins 4-3/4 apart, same as the 71 3443247 3404barrel.

*EDIT* 318 Stroker, both 70-71 lists 2998804 for the 440sixpack nameplate w/o shaker.
