Just installed my new booster. Pedal is very low. By hand you can pull the pedal up an inch. Why do i have this free play? Is it possible pivot linkage rod is wrong? Is the out put shaft from booster to pedal adjustable? Never had a Body with pedal this low. It's dead even with gas pedal. Maybe 3 inches off floor.

I pulled the master and adjusted the rod from booster to master. Didn't help. Pushed back on that rod as far as it would go with a buddy in the car. Didn't help. Is the rod from booster to pivot linkage adjustable?

How much clearance do you have between the rod rounded nub and the inside bottom of the M/C piston recess? and how did you check it? I'd unscrew the threaded nub until you have less than ~1/8"

I had play in mine and the brake lights stayed on until I pulled up on the pedal. It was the bushings at the pedal that gave me the play. You might want to double check the busings in your pedal assembly.

It's adjusted as per service manuel. Didn't help. Removed master again held the pushrod back by hand and had a helper lift up the pedal. Play is on back side not at master. Someone mentioned there were different length pivot rod set ups. Wondering if i have the wrong one? Any one know the measurement of the rod in pivot linkage that the pedal mounts too?

I do have some play in the bushings. But i have over an inch freeplay. With pedal held up it still doesn't touch the brake light switch. At rest the brake pedal is even with gas pedal. I've never seen any car even an old B Body that the brake pedal was level with gas pedal. I have something wrong.

Did the car always have power brakes or did you switch over to power brakes?

I am dealing with the exact same problem above, very sure of the rod adjustment between the MC and the booster. Anyone know/remember how this was solved? 68 b-body, hemi, power brakes with correct Bendix booster
