I remember it well!! It was a big wheelstander, quite a crowd pleaser. The "Roar-N-Hemi" was a hitter in the Columbus area. I talked to Bruce Mehls (he was the shop foreman at the Rod Shop) some time back...he told me that Phil was living in retirement down south somewhere. That is the last I've heard of him.

I had a good one of it too, someplace. I have looked the boxes top-bottom but can't find it. I have the "Sting" Barracuda, but still can't find the Belvedere. Sure was a crowd pleaser!!

It needed a left quarter panel because it was hit on the way to the track. Phil raced it for a couple of weeks that way. We sure had fun ribbing him on driving a wrecked car. Of course we paid the price he beat us all to win Super 32 that weekend.

My dad still tells stories about that car. He built it I think in the mid seventies, and yes it is a real car.
Ben, I just remembered who Phil got it from. Sam Brooks. Sam had the car a number of years. It sit in front of his Shell station on Livingston Ave until 1976-77. It was painted white then and I believe was the original color. I offered to trade Sam a '63 max wedge Savoy(alum. nose) for it but he backed out.
