Can anybody tell me how wide a 15" rim and tire I can go on a 70 Road Runner without playing with suspension? Also what backspace would I need on 15x10 wheels? Thanks.

If you have 5.5 to 6 inch backspacing you'll be ok. Gerry

Well I tried to put a 15x10 centerline wheel with 6" of backspace with a mounted 275/50/15 drag radial on and it was a no go,right up against the fender lip.Looks like you need at least 7" of backspace.

5.25-5.5 Basically 5.5 and if the tire is really big you may need a .25 spacer on one side but not the other. This is only if you have the factory b body rear end.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

With a 275/50 you will have plenty of room. It’s just when you have a tire approaching 305-335 it gets really close.
