kasey,i used crower -.050 locks.this part no. is for 11/32 stem valves with 10* retainers.
crower part no. 86110x2-16. theese did it for me.hope it helps you.

So with the 630-16 locks, do I need to run caps? Im assuming I do, but I dont know 100%

No. We did not run a cap with that lock. Shouldn't need to as it is only changing the position of your retainer(.050 further away from the top of the valve)

m also running the Tool Steel retainers, so there is TONS of room on the edge of the spring. Looks too small, but I am told they are the correct ones.
Now I just have to pull the head off the passenger side, and buy 1 head gasket.

We run tool steel retainers also. They to look smaller on the spring than I thought they should but have been running for 2 seasons (going into season 3) now with no problems.

since the -.05 retainer seems to be your choice of fixes, will you still have the proper installed height and pressures?

Those are definatly thngs I will have too look at, and I think I have a shim under my springs so Ill have to check that out for sure.

You could also try some smaller diameter springs like these:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LUN-73899/

They are 0.050 smaller in diameter than the 943's, and about the same spring rate.


67 Barracuda street car, 408, e85, 1.38 60', 6.44 @105.9 in the 1/8 mile, 10.19 @130.5 in the 1/4...so far....
