Some tracks are just that way. Miller and McCallum, a Canadian team, were the first AA/SSA in the 8's but couldn't back it up because the track dicked them around all day and then it was "too late" to make the run that day. I think Bucky Hess managed to run one the next day and backed it up right away so he is the first "official" 8 sec run.

Anyone thought to just call the track and see if it's simply an oversight in the "legaleese"?

I called Route 66 again this afternoon and asked about this. The lady that answered said she would have to check with the supervisor and call me back. This was about 3 hours ago and I have not heard back. I will keep you posted.

RT66 is owned by the same folks who own NASCAR. That should explain a lot right there.

I got a call back from Route 66 and they claim the entrant's rules are Pink's, so I sent an email to Rich. I will keep you posted.

I hope this gets resolved soon, I will be very hacked off and hope others would be also, if this kind of blatent discrimination against our good neighbors to the North is allowed to occur! Sometimes we forget who had our backs all through the cold war, who allowed DEW stations to be built on their land, who, at great risk to themselves, helped smuggle Americans out of Iran during the Hostage crisis! After all that, they earned the right to play in our toybox! Not to mention, they come here Legally and leave money as opposed to sending it home! My .02. Lee.

I emailed Rich yesterday about any progress on this issue and again he responded within the hour. Here is what he had to say;

Things are looking up. I will be putting in an application for sure and hope I am selected to participate.
