looking to buy a set of Billet Specialties Street Lites Wheels for the rear and was wondering if these will hold up to high torque and horsepower.
only want the rears as i got my weld alumastars for the front.
i don't trust talking to the manufacturer. they will tell you anything just for the sale.
i also see these are pretty heavy like 18.2 lbs each.

Why not just get matching alumastars for the rear?

Bill, i dont like the look of the alumastar rears at all, i do have prostars for the rear but i think they might be too wide. tried for 15 x 12's and i think they may rub.
i do like these billet specialties street lites but not sure they are up to the task?

The rears would be my last concern. They will hold up if the fronts do..Those front wheels IDK were designed for our old heavy cars and wheel stands..
Id say the fronts are in for a rough ride
Those alumstars are worse than the old Monaque wheels about bending. Best friend bent two sets in one season in a 2650 door car 4 link setup.

I like those wheels though

BOB, i went with the Weld Aluma star 2.0 front wheels. i hope they wont bend.
i see all the AH/ guys running them.

my concern are those billet specialties rear wheels. i like the look but not sure of the strength on a hard hit.

They make a SFI 15.1 certified version of that.

i think they compliment the aluma star 2.0's.
even better than a set of prostars which are my 2nd choice.
DaKuda has them on his red cuda and look great.

i like that they are making the sfi ones and are lighter also.
i think i will be ordering a set .

They stay under low 6's with the wheels in the air every run... Billet on rear 2.0 front. I also dont like the 2.0 rears.

I am going to get some WELD racing " Weldstars" for the rear, they look just like the front 5 spoke alumastars. Page 8 of the summit catalog with Greg and Jason on the cover, that came out a couple months ago, catalog said it was good through feb 28th 2010.The center spread is a drop top 64 impala convert, for reference. These look just right to me.

Good looking wheels on a good looking car
Wheel technology has really come around in the past 15-20 years...just looking at the market now. I picked up one of those 15x4 magnum 2.0's at a local swap meet a few weeks back, and was amazed at how light they was..I truly dont see how they can take the punishment...its like there isnt nothing there...and there's not LOL

JUST looked on billet specialties website and they are now selling a sfi lighter race street lite.
the price is definitely right on this wheel. it definitely does it for me.
