Does anyone know if the tail stripe on a 70 Super Bee was standard or if it was an option that would be listed on the fender tag? If there's no mention on the fender tag, does it mean that it was stripe delete? Did they ever come with only the Super Bee decal and no stripe? Thanks in advance

In 1970 the "C" - stripe (V6_) was STANDARD on a Super Bee.
The "bumble bee" stripe (V8_) was a no cost OPTION.
If "stripe DELETE" (V68) was ordered the circle BEEs would be on the quarter panels.

Fender tag information depends on the assembly plant. What plant was the Bee assembled at? What codes do you have?

Lynch Rd. (plant A) tags will not have the stripe option listed. Only way to know is broadcast sheet, window sticker, or have pic of original paint.

It's a Lynch road car with, as far as I know, nothing regarding the stripes on the fender tag.

"Stripe DELETE" 1970 Lynch Rd. Super Bees were coded V88 on their fender tags.

If its stripe delete, I would think that should be on the lynch road tag. As far as "C" stripe or bumble bee stripe Im not sure. My RT is stripe delete (V88 on an RT) and its on my lynch road tag.

Correct, I should have been clearer, stripe delete will be, if it had a stripe it wouldn't be on the tag.

Late to the party on this one: yep V88 will show up on a '70 Lynch Rd. tag, but not the stripe code. No way to know without a broadcast sheet.

I didn't have a broadcast sheet for mine and with no V88, I knew it had a stripe of some sort. There was still some black stripe remanants stuck around the marker light so I knew the color (car was in primer) but no idea whether it was a "C" stripe or bumblebee stripe. Research (sorry don't have it handy) suggested that the majority of '70 Bees got the V6_ "C" stripe, I think 60+ percent?
....unltimately I went with a black bumblebee stripe 'cause I thought it looked better.

Oh and BTW, to answer part of the original question: V88 stripe delete cars still got the bee

But what color Bee on a stripe delete car? Was there a default stripe color for each paint color? I suspect since there was a default stripe color for each paint color.

Yes there was a default stripe color;

But I have never seen a stripe delete car with a bee any other color than white although I assume that there were black bees for the light colored cars.

Interesting question, and my GUESS is that the Bees weren't colored on stripe delete cars so they got white or black.....sure would love to see pics of an original V88 car with a colored Bee though..

Here's a black Bee w/V6R, don't know if it's real or not. Heard about a FK5 V6R Super Bee last month but haven't seen the car.

I know who owns the FK5 V6R car but it's a Lynch Road car so it's not coded.

I have some other funky stripes hiding in my computer . . .
